We leave for Montana on Tuesday and are so excited to be on vacation and to spend lots of time with family and friends.  Stay tuned for pictures of  some beautiful Montana babies!

Today Xander and I went to Christie’s house to pick up a lens that I left there last week.  I’m so glad I had my camera with me to capture the adorable friendship of Xander and sweet Sabrina.

Speaking of friendship, I am so lucky to have such wonderful photographer friends.  Be sure to check out Christie’s blog and Alicia’s blog for pictures from our photographers’ get together last week!  I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with the pictures Alicia took of Xander and me!

Also, be sure to enter to win an Under the Nile veggie crate!  Click here for details!

aw they are tooo cute together!!! I love how they are little buddies already 🙂

For this past Christmas, Xander’s first, Paul and I decided to shop separately for our gifts for Xander.  This way we both would be surprised and excited, since Xander was more interested in the wrapping paper tubes anyway. 🙂  During a super successful trip to the mall that I was so proud of (I had like 9 bags in 30 minutes), I found a bin of the softest, cutest stuffed fruits and veggies and I fell in love with a little green bean that become a stocking stuffer.  Xander loved it, too…

I took the tag off before giving the bean to Xander, and I kept it to google the company, which I often do when I buy something I like and am not familiar with the brand.  I read about Under the Nile and was totally touched by the 13 Vilages Project, and I sent an e-mail to say how much Xander was enjoying  his bean.

Fast forward to this week when I received a copy of the Under the Nile catalog with one of my pictures on the cover!  This project was such a fun experience and the people at Under the Nile are amazingly sweet and wonderful to work with.   A special thank you to my gorgeous baby models and their fabulous parents!

THE GIVEAWAY

What better way to celebrate my excitement than a giveaway?!

One lucky blog reader will win an Under the Nile veggie crate!  This is a wooden box (that smells really natural and nice) filled with soft, adorable organic cotton veggies: a mushroom, a tomato, a carrot and, our favorite, the green bean!  These veggies are great for sore teething gums, fun to snuggle with, and easy for crawlers to carry around the house with them.

This contest will be open until April 7th and the winnder will be chosen randomly.  Here’s what you can do to enter:

1. Leave a comment on this post about something you see and like on the Under the Nile website.

2. Become a Facebook fan of Maegan Dougherty Photography and Under the Nile.

3. Post a link to this blog entry on your Facebook page.

4. Post a link to this blog entry on a message board or your own blog.

You can do all of the above and have four changes to win!  For 2-4, please send me links, so I don’t miss any entries.

Have fun!

Cute cover pictures!

I’ve never seen that site – I’m loving the Peaches & Cream collection denim dress and overalls. Just flagged it for after this bean’s arrival this summer!

So…what did YH end up buying?

I’m already a fan 😉

Looks like….??? Wait awhile….Tell you later!

Love you all…

Gil & Pat

I was blown away by these three.  This loving couple brought their beautiful three and a half year old daughter home from Ethiopia just two months ago.  This little girl is sweet and friendly and has the most genuine smile I’ve ever photographed.  There was no saying “cheese” at this session!  We had so much fun and I was continuously impressed by her joy and her intelligence.  Mom said she’ll probably be fluent in English AND Hebrew in a couple months!  She just started to learn them both two months ago!!!  She showed me her ballet moves, the face her cousin Eliyahu makes, and the way she dresses up like a princess.

Thank you for choosing me to photograph your family and for an amazing afternoon I won’t soon forget!

The mom in these photos is my Mary Kay lady!  We met about three years ago in Bed Bath & Beyond and she came over to do facials for Paul and me!  Since then, she has saved me from many make-up emergencies.  Most of the e-mails she gets from me go something like this: “Abbie, I just used the last of my powder today.  Can you bring some by?”  She replies and I come home to a pretty Mary Kay bag with my powder and a sample and a nice note.  She’s WONDERFUL and I love the Mineral Powder Foundation, among other things.  Click here for her website to contact her for a consulation of order Mary Kay products.
