It’s fun to look back at these sweet pictures from a “summer evening at home” mini session. I’m loving the colors and the facial expressions. Family photo sessions at home, whether inside or outdoors, are so special.

Pregnancy is such a beautiful and exciting time in your life. If you’re expecting an addition to your family, I would be happy to talk with you about a family photo session!

All of the new parents should pretty soon think about potty training their child. I wholeheartedly recommend bribery as potty training motivation: We kept a small plastic piggy bank in the bathroom and rewarded every success (one penny for pee, two for poop). Our daughter was entranced — she would shake the piggy with a gleam in her eye and remark how heavy it was getting. When she was all done, we took her potty windfall and turned it into quarters to spend on rides at the mall. I gained all this knowledge from this e-book: http://www.bncreviews.com/start-potty-training-review/

I like to think this family’s New Years Day would have looked a lot like this if I hadn’t been there. I loved the way they took care of the kids, enjoyed food, shared activities and traditions, and were completely present while having a good time together. They were gentle and calm and relaxed, and that allowed for real life, authentic emotions, and beautiful relationships to be documented.

If you are interested in scheduling an extended family documentary session, perhaps during the holidays when your whole family is together, please contact me. I would love to talk about how your family enjoys your time together, and to capture some of those special memories.

I loved getting a message from this client, asking if I had plans for the following Thursday. She said after many years together, with their third child on the way, and in the process of buying their second house, they decided to get married in a small ceremony in their backyard. She thought it might be nice to have a few pictures.  🙂 I was super excited! I knew this would totally be my kind of event to photograph.

Plus I got to bring the boys, and I invited Xander to be my second shooter.  🙂
These are some of the pictures Xander took with his Canon Rebel. I watched him looking adorable while holding up his camera through the whole ceremony. I asked if he took a lot of pictures. He said he took just one. He was waiting for the kiss.  🙂

It’s definitely in the genes – great job, Xander

These little girls are so loved. Here they are on their adoption day with their moms and grandparents.

I was there on their moms’ wedding day and for their big sister’s adoption, and I was so honored to be there on this day, too. It’s a privilege to witness such important family moments.

I took a sweet picture of this awesome mom and her first daughter at a babywearing group meeting a couple years ago. She was interested in a few babywearing and breastfeeding pictures with her second daughter, so we met for a mommy and me mini session at Van Saun Park. I was glad Big Sis and Daddy were there, too, because I love photographing a whole family. Also, I was so impressed with the way Mom and Dad talked with each other. I know communication is super important in a marriage, and in the short time I spent with them, I was so inspired!

It was really nice to see this family. 🙂
