Today was Leila’s first Birthday party, so we did a little mini session before all the partying started. My favorite part – Leila snapping her fingers!
If you have a 6-9 month old and don’t have a family portrait session scheduled, do it now! This is such a cute and precious age. It’s true that they all are, but it is just amazing how quickly little ones go from baby to big kid.
Yesterday I met Olivia, who is 8 months old and full of smiles and adorable expressions, and she danced for her parents and me, and clapped hands and said mama. I loved watching her parents look at her…just like Paul and I look at Xander.

I can’t believe this is my FIFTH year photographing Maxyne and Sadie and their beautiful mom! We had fun hanging out by the train station in Maywood.
Getting ready…
We stopped for ice cream and some cute little animals.
I’ve been photographing the girls in these Birthday hats since their first Birthday!
They ran around in the grass with bare feet and…
They made a cozy nest for a bird to call home.
And we took some pictures with Cat and Sheep, the stuffed animals they have had “forever.”
Can’t wait to see you girls again next year, if not sooner for a trip to the beach or to share some veggies from the garden! And thank you Danielle for the beautiful newborn hats, and for some good advice! 🙂

Pure joy…
This little girl has amazing hair (like her mom), hugged me when I’d been there only a few minutes, drew a picture of “a bad guy,” and wanted to be a princess in her purple tutu. Precious.
So glad they invited me into their home to capture these moments.
