This dad was doing a surgical rotation and had limited time away from the hospital, so he came to his family photo shoot in his scrubs.  I loved that he and his wife embraced this.  They totally get that having family pictures taken is all about capturing the way life is right now.  And for many families, life right now is a lot of hard work, as we discover new dreams we want to pursue and enjoy the journey by learning to be present in every moment.

To see more of this happy family, you can click here for last year’s session, and links to other times I’ve photographed them, including their wedding! 🙂

I was so happy to see this family again.  These awesome babies are toddlers now!  We let them walk around and explore, and walk and walk some more.  I love how excited new walkers get about being able to move around quickly on their own.  It’s so sweet.

I love looking back at previous sessions.  As time passes, the pictures, and the memories captured in them, become more and more special.

Love the photos!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  Ours was cozy and fun at home.  My sister was here and she cooked for us and stocked our freezer (awesome!!!), while Paul and the boys played with new toys, and I mostly lounged around and watched with a smile.  Although we didn’t do our own holiday cards this year, I did enjoy receiving many from friends and family and clients, including this family who used some of the pictures from their fall mini session.

To be photographed at home is so special.  This is where these boys will grow, with their animal mural and blue carpet, trees that change colors in the fall, their blanket from Grandma, and their sweet dog and mom and dad to love and take care of them.  Home is a beautiful place.

My Small Business Saturday offer is still available today!  Contact me today to book your January, February or March 2014 photo shoot and receive a discount of 30%!
