This morning I’ve been going through my blog post drafts to see what I’ve started and not yet published, and I found these sweet pictures from a “mommy and me” photo shoot I did over the summer. I remember arriving at the location that day and seeing another photographer and her clients with their arms full of fancy clothes and balloons and props and equipment, and while I’m sure they made beautiful photographs, I remember the warm feeling I had about my clients, and how peaceful and lovely it felt to be walking around with only my camera, this little girl with her keys and cookie, and her mama. Finding my style and my purpose and embracing them continues to be a beautiful and transformational journey for me.
These three…they make me smile. They are so filled with joy, and being around them makes me happy. Remember last year, when the dad wore scrubs? 🙂
This photo shoot took place just a week before this family’s cross-country move . I was so happy to photograph them in their children’s first home. I hope that as they make beautiful memories together in their new home, these pictures will be a treasured reminder of the beauty of their life in New Jersey.
I love when clients become good friends, and when good friends become clients. This family started out as friends of my family, and I was so happy to have the chance to photograph them. We captured real life in their home and around town, and now that baby sister has arrived, I’m looking forward to going back to photograph them as a family of five.
Be sure to like my Facebook page if you haven’t already, to see pictures soon with sweet baby sister!
This year for Christmas my mother-in-law asked for a family picture, like she probably has every year. And this year, we actually made it happen. AND she received it before (one day before) Christmas. Big success, and I’m very proud of myself. 🙂 We sent her a framed collage with a few of these pictures, taken by us in our backyard.
Love it!
