It’s been about seven months since the morning pictured here. Now this family has a six month old baby and a new home, and big sister started Kindergarten.
Things change so fast. Changes can be difficult and emotional, even when they are happy changes. As my kids grow – now they’re both in school full-time – I find so much comfort in knowing that I’ve really treasured each phase, and each age. Sure, there is some guilt and regret mixed in there. I could have been more present, more grateful, more fun. But I’ve done my best, listened with love, watched as they learn and create, smiled and laughed with them, and snuggled lots.
Photos help us remember this. Not just that those times and moments were good, but the way we felt experiencing them, and that we truly treasured them.
