The night before I went back to work after maternity leave, I was crying, and Xander came over to me, put his hands on my face and said, “Mama, are you upsad? Don’t worry. It will be okay. I will help you feel better.” And he hugged me and got a towel, which he put over me like a blanket. ”It’s okay. I got you, baby.” Sweetest little boy in the world. :)

We had no plans today and spent most of it relaxing at home, snuggling in bed and sitting in the living room watching movies. It’s been so nice. Paul and I keep looking at our little boys and then each other and smiling about how wonderful this time is. I realized that we still had no pictures of the four of us and Jasper is already six weeks old. So we took a few just before nap time in our favorite place…

Hangabers- NJ Family Pictures

I haven’t been taking enough pictures of my boys and there are so many moments I want to freeze and keep forever. Xander and Paul went outside the other night to grill hamburgers and I just love the way Xander says “hangabers.” I also love hearing him say “hosipital” and “nexuh,” as in, “Mommy, I think my baby brother wants to sit nexuh to me.” He sings all the time lately and comes home from school with new songs to teach us. This weekend we had fun with, “I have a friend who likes to dance and Daddy is his name. Dance, Daddy, dance. Dance, Daddy, dance!” And then there are the songs like “This Land is your Land” and “You are my Sunshine” that we’ve always sung to him, and he’s now all of a sudden started singing with us. His little voice is the sweetest sound. Well, it’s a tie between his voice with the cute baby noises Jasper makes. :)

Valentine’s Day

I hope you all had a Valentine’s Day full of kisses and snuggles! This is the card Xander gave to his friends. I wrote the names on the envelopes and Xander picked the flavor of lollipop he thought each friend would like best. It was fun to work together. :)

Xander and I had a really fun time with friends today. We went to a park and the boys ran around and played with sticks, the other mom and I talked and took pictures, and we all enjoyed a beautiful relaxing fall day.

It’s not too late to have some nice fall pictures of your family taken this year! Let me know if you’d like me to squeeze you in during the next two weekends. After that I may be finished for the year (except for newborns), and then I am planning to take January and February off for maternity leave. Yay…it’s getting close to new baby time!

…while Paul was mowing the lawn, my camera and I followed Xander around while he took care of all the things he needed to do. He seemed to know exactly what was on the little to do list in his head, and did each task with such intent and determination…and extreme cuteness. He’s a very busy little guy.

We’re in Montana on vacation now and it’s been wonderful. Although there are so many people we would love to see while we’re here, we arrived with zero plans. We are in such major need of stress-free relaxation, so we’ve been enjoying just doing whatever we want whenever we want. Pictures to come!

It’s so nice to have three whole days together this weekend. This morning we walked to Target to pick up a few things, and then ate lunch at Whole Foods. Xander took a long nap while I worked on pictures, and then Xander and I went to Rose and Emily’s Birthday Party. We saw a worm that was longer than Grace’s foot. Uncle Jimmy picked it up and moved it from the pavement to the dirt, so it could go back underground. Xander had a great time mowing the lawn, playing with Grace and Rose, and seeing everybody.

May is such a pretty month in New Jersey, and I loved the evening light for these pictures.

Today we walked to Whole Foods for a late lunch and our grocery shopping. We stayed outside for a long time after we got home. Went for a walk, said hi to the neighbors, played in the car, watched Xander sweep and then bring a bag to the backyard to clean off the deck (he loves to clean), and took some pictures of Xander and Daddy. Can’t wait for next weekend.

I wanted to finish addressing our holiday cards (Yes, I ordered them!) tonight and to finally post about my contest results, but I went upstairs to bring Xander to bed at 8:15ish, closed my eyes for a minute, and woke up at almost 1! So here I am now, with a water and my Gaga Raspberry SherBetter, and let’s see if I can stay awake long enough to finish this post, especially for my Sienna and Luca fans who have been so patiently waiting!

Sienna as a puppy!!!!! I’m pretty sure Sienna’s parents will be happy with their prize and I look forward to seeing their family again right around Sienna’s little brother’s first Birthday!

Our first runner up, and a favorite of people who I know don’t know any of the entrants, which I think is a pretty special distinction, is Moments, featuring newborn Luca and his mom – one of my mst memorable photography moments of the year. Congratulations to Luca’s parents, who will receive a $240 credit for a la carte products from their 2010 or (I hope they have one) 2011 session! I ordered a 20×24 of one of their family pictures as a sample and I LOVE it! With this credit they can get a 16×20 and a 20×24 to put together on a wall, or a 16×20 canvas for a smaller wall!
