Welcoming Baby Girl – Bergen County Newborn and Family Photographer

My last official session before maternity leave (not including yesterday’s 12-model catalog shoot, which they also joined me for!) was with this family. I loved seeing how they’ve welcomed their new baby girl and I love the warm holiday feel of the pictures, with the red sofa and the Christmas tree.

First comes love

Almost four and a half years ago, Trish and Matt trusted me to photograph their wedding. It was my first and I remember it so well. My brides and grooms are extra special to me, and these guys are extra extra special as my first, so I was thrilled to find out they were expecting their first baby. I met baby Autumn at six weeks old and kinda fell in love. Her mama gave her to me to hold and she looked up at me with her perfect baby face and curious eyes. I took so many pictures of her little hands and little feet, and I LOVE the shirt mom was wearing. Perfect for this! Her parents held her for most of the pictures, which is the way I like it, and why would anyone want to put her down, anyway? I sure didn’t.

I’m posting almost all of the pictures from this mini session because I am just so absolutely in love with them. This family is extra special to me because I photographed their wedding, and then their little guy as newborn. Mom and Dad reminded me of they way Paul and I are with Xander. We want to hug him and kiss him and look at him all day.

So happy for you guys!

If you have a 6-9 month old and don’t have a family portrait session scheduled, do it now! This is such a cute and precious age. It’s true that they all are, but it is just amazing how quickly little ones go from baby to big kid.

Yesterday I met Olivia, who is 8 months old and full of smiles and adorable expressions, and she danced for her parents and me, and clapped hands and said mama. I loved watching her parents look at her…just like Paul and I look at Xander.

I was so happy to finally meet these adorable sweeties yesterday. I sat on the living room floor and these 10 month old twins crawled right over to me, along with my new favorite dog, Dallas. I think the babies mostly wanted to see my camera, but some baby cuddle time was a nice way to start the shoot!

I am home today focusing on finishing editing a few recent sessions and preparing lots and lots of holiday cards and orders. I couldn’t resist a break from holiday cards to share more of my favorites from this session. I’m looking forward to sending the full gallery to mom today or tomorrow.

Nice and cozy with the baby and the blanks.

This picture on the left makes me smile. I may have written before that nearly every mom I photograph starts the session with a black hair elastic on her wrist, which I suggest removing and tell her almost every mom wears one, and sometimes show her my own. This was the first time I had to ask a dad to remove his.

There’s just something about this one that I love.

In the spirit of tomorrow, I am feeling so thankful to have the absolute pleasure of being this beautiful (aren’t they?) family’s photographer.

I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home with my own family. We will be feasting on a wonderful meal prepared by the lovely people (and our favorite neighbors) at Whole Foods Paramus. We love and frequent that place and I feel great about being able to spend the day sleeping in, snuggling in bed with Paul and Xander, practicing new words like “broom” and “hot,” and listening to Xander laugh.

For the month of December, I will not be scheduling any shoots except for newborns. I hope to have lots of sweet Xander pictures to share. In January, February and March I will be limiting my photography time, so if you would like to book a session, please contact me soon and let’s talk about when, where and how to make it a fun, relaxed and special time!

Lexie-Ann and Anthony – Bergen County NJ Holiday Pictures

My last shoot with Lexie-Ann was two years ago, so I was really looking forward to seeing her family today, and to meeting her baby cousin. We took some pictures of the kids in their Christmas outfits and I was so happy that Lexie-Ann’s mom and grandma agreed to be in some pictures.

I liked what Anthony was wearing when I arrived, so I took some pictures before his mama changed him. Such a beautiful happy baby. Just like Lexie-Ann.

Anthony is good practice for Lexie-Ann, who is going to have a baby brother soon! Congratulrations to you guys on your growing family!

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged baby Bo yet! Aren’t these guys beautiful? This is my celebrity-spotting shot.

I don’t post many crying shots, but this little sad face is too cute not to. I love the kitty in the background and Bo’s tiny hand on daddy’s finger.

Perfect baby face…

Dreaming of mommy’s snuggles and growing up to be a duck farmer. (I heard his daddy tell him he can be anything he wants to be…even a duck farmer. Dads are so cute!)
